Intelligent, friendly, and affectionate is the perfect way to describe the cross breed known as the Golden doodle.
Temperament: Golden Doodles are generally known as devoted, trainable, and pleasant dogs. The amount of socialization will play a factor in how well your Golden Doodle reacts around other dogs and people, but don’t anticipate this breed to be aggressive or shy by any means. Although on the larger side, they are notorious for being gentle with younger children and infants, but would make perfect playmates for older children as well.
Diet: The Golden Doodle puppy needs to have a balanced diet. When you receive your Golden Doodle, typically around the 8-week mark, they should have been on solid foods for a few weeks. Try to find out the type of solid food it’s been eating prior to adoption. We recommend keeping the same eating schedule for the first few days. Keeping your puppies diet consistent will help limit the stress and anxiety during this big change.
Origin: The Golden Doodle is a cross breed of a Golden Retriever and Poodle. These adorable pups come in various sizes ranging from 15-100 pounds. The size will vary as to whether the poodle side of this cross breed is miniature or standard.
Grooming: While they aren’t known to be low maintenance when it comes to the grooming factor, their adorable coat and face seems to make it easier to tolerate! Brushing 3-4 times a week as well as making time for a trim every 8-12 weeks should do the trick in keeping your Golden Doodle in tip top shape.
Activity Level: The Golden Doodle loves play time! This specific breed is highly active and would benefit from a large, enclosed yard with lots of room to run. Daily walks are recommended as well for your furry friend.
