Pure joy is what you will feel if you choose to adopt a Cavachon. This fluffy ball of love will make a great companion for just about any type of family
Temperament: While genetics play a slight role, a Cavachon’s attitude is going to vary depending on how he is raised. Typically, the Cavachon is known to be active, loving, and sociable. They prefer to be around other people or animals, but do quite a good job at entertaining themselves when left alone. If you are active family who loves spending your time at the park, the Cavachon will be more than happy to tag along and run around for the afternoon. If you run more of a relaxed household where spending time inside is more ideal, this pup will also fit in perfectly. They are intelligent, trainable, and love animals and kids. They do not make the best watch dogs, and will likely greet strangers with a waging tail and tons of kisses.
Diet: The Cavachon puppy needs to have a balanced diet. When you receive your puppy, typically around the 8-week mark, they should have been on solid foods for a few weeks. Try to find out the type of solid food it’s been eating prior to adoption. We recommend keeping the same eating schedule for the first few days. Keeping your pup’s diet consistent will help limit the stress and anxiety during this big change.
Origin: The Cavachon is a cross-breed between a Bichon Frise and King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. While the reason for specific breeding is unknown, it is believed that people were looking for an alternative breed to your typical small dog.
Grooming: The Cavachon is low maintenance when it comes to grooming. The shedding for this specific breed is very minimal. It is recommended to schedule an appointment with your groomer ever 6-8 weeks for upkeep.
Activity Level: The Cavachon has the ability to become overweight easily, so a brisk walk to keep your pup in healthy shape is recommended. This breed is known to adapt to just about any type of household. If you enjoy weekend activities with the kids or friends, the Cavachon will gladly join in on the fun. If you prefer to spend your weekends catching up on sleep and just relaxing, a Cavachon will be more than happy to lay by your side for the day.
